Alternet Launches Managed Networks Division

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA --
Alternet Systems Inc. ( NASD OTCBB:ASYI ) announces that it has entered into an OEM license agreement with Softhill Technologies Ltd., of Vancouver, Canada and Bratislava, Slovakia. Softhill’s products include BRILAN broadband wireless devices, based on its proprietary Network Operating Systems (NOS) and broadband wireless Network Management Systems.

Since its introduction in 1995 - BRILAN based broadband wireless systems - have received numerous awards and developed a global customer base. BRILAN wireless products are also recognized as among the most cost-effective in the industry.

The combination of Alternet System’s internet management software suite, with Softhill’s broadband wireless products and wireless network management software, provides a powerful technology base for broadband wireless network customers.

This agreement allows Alternet Systems to offer a complete, turn-key broadband wireless system to the education and health sectors, providing customers with one of the lowest overall cost of ownership in the industry.
Alternet will be able to control all aspects of the quoting, implementation and ongoing management of the wireless component of a broadband wireless internet network, in addition to managing network software and application software.

The market for broadband wireless systems is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years as emerging and developing countries around the world expand the Internet to rural schools and communities. The Internet is recognized as one of the global economy’s most vital engines of growth, and can especially benefit rural areas, as it levels the playing field for access to information in education and health services.
